Welsh Cakes做法

Welsh Cakes:
Ingredients:
225g self-raising flour       225g  高筋麵粉
pinch of salt                          1 小撮鹽
110g butter                           110g 奶油
50g caster sugar                  50g 糖
75g dry cranberry               75g 蔓越莓乾(可以用葡萄乾;因流浪貓不喜葡萄乾,所以用蔓越莓乾代替)
1 egg, beaten                         1 顆蛋,打散
1 tbsp milk (optional)         1匙 牛奶 (可用,可不用)
Method:
1.Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Add the butter and rub it until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and currants. Add the egg and a little milk , if necessary, to make a soft dough, but not sticky.
1.將麵粉及鹽過篩,加入奶油並用雙手將麵粉及奶油摩揉至呈現小顆粒狀.再拌入糖及蔓越莓乾.最後再加進蛋液,揉成麵糰;如果太乾,可以適度的加入牛奶,但不要太多.只要麵糰有軟度即可.
2. On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to 5mm thick. Stamp into circles with a 6cm plain or fluted cutter. Gather the trimmings, re-roll and stamp out more circles until the dough is used.
2. 在工作檯灑上薄薄的麵粉,將麵糰桿成約0.5公分的厚度.用直徑6公分的圓形切割器將麵糰切出一塊塊的圓形麵糰.把切割剩下的部份再揉成麵糰,再桿,再切割,直到所有的麵糰用畢.
3. Grease a griddle or heavy-frying pan and set over low heat. Cook the Welsh cakes for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
3.在厚底煎鍋上抹上奶油,並用小火來煎"威爾斯滿福堡".每一面煎約3分鐘或是直到表面呈棕色即可.要食用時,可再塗抹上奶油或是果醬,味道會更香喔!!
